
Alan Jahić, MD, PhD
Specialist in Internal Medicine, Subspecialist in Cardiology
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tuzla, after which he continued his professional training through a specialization in internal medicine, followed by a subspecialization in cardiology. He continued his academic career through doctoral studies in Biomedicine and Health at the University of Tuzla, where he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Comparison of Transradial and Transfemoral Arterial Access in the Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease” and obtained the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences.
He has built his entire professional career at the University Clinical Center Tuzla, first at the Clinic for Cardiovascular Diseases, and then at the Clinic for Invasive Cardiology, where since 2024 he has held the position of Head of the Department for Endovascular Angiology. He has published several scientific and professional articles in the fields of cardiology, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine in domestic and international journals.
His professional expertise is particularly expressed in the field of interventional cardiology and endovascular angiology, where he actively applies modern methods in diagnostics and treatment. Throughout his career, he has continuously pursued professional training in numerous international centers, including: “Fellows Program at Columbia University – Coronary and Structural Heart” – New York (USA), “Advanced Coronary Workshop” – Budapest (Hungary), “Endovascular Excellence Academy” – Istanbul (Turkey), “Advances in Coronary Physiology and Imaging” – Izola (Slovenia), as well as many others.
An interventional cardiologist with over 13 years of experience in the field of interventional cardiology and angiology. Lead and responsible operator in over 4,200 invasive coronary angiographies, 2,700 percutaneous coronary interventions, and 500 endovascular procedures on peripheral arteries. He finds particular personal and professional satisfaction in the fact that during his career he has percutaneously treated more than 800 acute myocardial infarctions, thus making a significant contribution to reducing morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular diseases in the Tuzla Canton and surrounding areas.
Due to his significant contributions in the field of cardiology, in 2024 he was awarded the prestigious title of FESC (Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology) within the European Society of Cardiology, which is a global symbol of excellence and a high level of expertise in the field of cardiology and cardiovascular medicine. He is the President of the Working Group for Interventional Cardiology within the Association of Cardiologists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is currently engaged in numerous national and international projects within the mentioned associations.
He is the recipient of several awards for contributions to projects and student education, including acknowledgments from the Student Council of the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla and the BoHeMSA organization.
